Hand-Me-Downs and Sweat Pants- the title analogizes the fact that what we wear mentally impacts what we wear behaviorally. Poems in the "Hand-Me-Downs" portion of this book recognizes familial contributions that can affect our ideologies and thus our conduct. In contrast, the poems in the later section, "Sweat Pants," are declarations about personal choices that many find relatable. The reader will receive what my grandmother has to offer in "A Deep Richness," as well as knowing how things stand in my home in "House as a Haven." After reading, I want you to think about your clothing choices and if you're selecting the better pieces from your closet to best dress yourself.
